DorkySon and Binky, his Angel Dear Lovey

An Angel Dear blue hippo lovey or soft toy
If you’ve ever met DorkySon, there’s a good chance that you’ve also met Binky.

Binky is a blue hippo lovey, made by an American company called Angel Dear. He was a gift for DorkySon when he was born, and it was only a matter of weeks before they became inseparable. Originally, he looked beautifully clean and soft and fluffy like the photo above.

I can assure that you he doesn’t look like that anymore.

The Wright Stuff get it Wrong

I have spent the morning trying to talk myself out of writing this post. I am never keen on wading into an issue that only affects me peripherally… and I get frustrated when I read a ranty post from a blogger and it seems like they are just jumping on an already crowded bandwagon.

And yet, today, I feel myself genuinely angry and upset at something in the news. And I don’t know how else to process it other than by writing about it.

All I Want for Christmas (that money can’t buy)

I was lying awake the other night thinking about all the things I’d like for Christmas that money can’t buy. I thought it might make a good topic to blog about. So imagine how crabbit it made me when I turned on my computer the next morning and there was already an email in my inbox titled ‘All I Want for Christmas that Money Can’t Buy”.

Bless though, it was from the lovely Donna at Mummy Central, and she’d done a brilliant blog post on the topic. She was then kind enough to open the subject up as a linky, and has tagged me to take part. Like Donna, you can take it as a given that things like world peace and medical advancements are on my list; this is more about things that are personal to me. Here’s my wishlist.

A Tale of Two Paintings

DorkySon is massively into painting just now. He always asks if he can get his paints out about quarter to five – just when I’m about to start cooking his dinner – but because I’m so pleased that he’s got a new interest (which isn’t related to trucks in any way) I’m always happy to spend some time getting messy with him.

Last night I decided to show him one of my favourite things to do with paint – folding a piece of paper in half, putting splodges of colour on one side and then squishing it together to make a ‘beautiful butterfly’.
