What is it with kids and stickers? They’re obsessed with the things! I’m already stocking up on sheets of stickers and various sticker activity books for our upcoming 13 hour (eek!) flight.

The Toy-Stealing Squirrel
We were walking through the park the other day when DorkySon suddenly stopped and let out an ear-piercing shriek.
“What is it?” I asked.
“There’s a squirrel,” he said, pointing, and shrieked again.
I’m confused. We see squirrels most days on our walks through the park, and they don’t usually provoke any reaction.
“What’s wrong with the squirrel?” I asked.

Project 52: Week 4

Here’s a funny, slightly surreal photo for Week 4 of the 52 Week Project. It looks to me like a scene from an old movie, featuring a small blonde intruder who has snuck onto the set.
We went on a lovely Dorky Adventure today – a morning at the London Transport Museum, followed by lunch at a steak house in Covent Garden.
The museum was great – lots of old buses and trains for climbing into, as well as a demo car from the new Emirates Air Line, which for some reason was DorkySon’s favourite.
As you can see from the picture above, DorkySon discovered that there is a big advantage to being toddler sized – you can slip past the security barriers and into some of the trains that aren’t supposed to have visitors. Although why you’d want to get any closer to those creepy mannequins is beyond me.

We’ve got a good little routine going in the mornings, these days. When DorkySon wakes up – usually sometime between 6.30-7am – I go through to get him out of his cot, change his nappy, and bring him through into our bed for some milk and cuddles.
One of my favourite parts of the day is the couple of minutes it takes me to do his nappy change in the near-dark. I’m always pretty bleary-eyed, but most days he’ll sing me a wee song, or tell me what he dreamed about that night, and it’s a lovely start to the day.
