Hello! How are you all? I’m finally back online after my month off. I hope I didn’t miss anything too exciting…
I’ll hopefully be writing a post next week about what I did with my four weeks free of social media, but for starters I thought I’d catch up with Project 52. Here are my shots for Weeks 3 – 7.
Week 3 – Mango Sorbet
In 2012 I completed the 52 Week Project – taking a photo a week and sharing it on the blog. Last year I decided not to do it again and, in retrospect, I regret that. 2013 was so busy for us, and my poor blog was often neglected for weeks at a time. It would have been nice to keep it ticking over with some simple photo posts. It would also have been nice to share some of our adventures in picture form, rather than always feeling the need to write a long post about them.
For those reasons, I’ve decided I’m going to try and complete Project 52 again in 2014. In addition to the basic rule of taking and sharing at least one photo each week, I’ve given myself two additional challenges.
Firstly, I want to start using my DSLR more, instead of always snapping away on my iPhone. I love the convenience of phone pics – I almost always have it with me, and I can upload photos straight to my blog or Facebook without having to transfer them onto my laptop first. But I have dedicated macro and portrait lenses for my lovely Nikon, and I am determined to make better use of them both this year. Continue reading
Tick-tock, tick-tock… the countdown to 2013 is on! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas with family and friends.
The blogging world is fairly quiet at the moment, and I’m too full of turkey and roasties to power up my own writing mojo, but I thought I’d keep things ticking over with a couple of round-up posts. I’ll do a written one over the weekend, but first of all I thought I’d gather together some of my favourite photos from the last year.
I’m thrilled to have finished the 52 Week Photography Project – I did manage to post at least one photo every week of the year – but I don’t think I’ll be repeating the project again in 2013. I’m still not ready to commit to Project 365, but I think I’d rather find something a bit more focused that makes me more thoughtful about photography, rather than just scrabbling to find a subject at the last minute every Sunday evening.
