I’m planning to do a proper post about our lovely family holiday in the next few days, but in the meantime here are a few of pics of one of my favourite finds of the trip…
DorkyDad went out for a walk one day, and came back telling me about a brilliant bit of beach art that he’d found – some pieces of rubbish that folk had found by the shore and turned into sculptures.
The next day I went out to try and find them myself, and it took quite a while… my eyesight is a bit rubbish and I’d been avoiding getting too near the group of sculptures because I thought they were a group of real people sitting relaxing!
I’m a total sucker for this kind of thing. I love street art and guerilla knitting, but I’d never seen a beach installation like this one before. I hope that if we’re ever lucky enough to go back to Turks and Caicos (or Turtles and Cakes, as DorkySon calls it!) this group will still be there, maybe even with some new members!
oh they are great! Bet you had a lovely holiday I will look out for your future posts 🙂 x
It was wonderful, thank you 🙂 Lovely to get some relaxing family time. Thanks so much for popping over and commenting! xx
Brilliant – and very funny. You can’t fail to have a smile on your face looking at these. Not that I’d imagine you’d ever need to frown being on a beautiful beach like that…
I know – much as I love the UK, you just don’t get beaches like this! I’m off for a wee nosey at your blog now to see how you got on in Cuba. Bet that was amazing too! xx

Fantastic. I love beach art. We are known to get it down here. There’s a big upcycling movement.
Brilliant – I’m going to have a look online for some other examples. Such fun 🙂
What a strange find! I’m similar with being a sucker for this type of thing. Theres a great group of yarnbomers that I came across on twitter https://twitter.com/#!/K_N_D_W 😀
Thanks for linking up to Love All Blogs Art and Design showcase x
I’ve never seen anything quite like this on a beach before! Looking forward to hearing about your trip too.
